Mobile sitemap

Definition

A mobile sitemap is literally a code which should be submitted to search engine spiders in order to improve the website ranking. As the name suggests, this is a separate version of the sitemap and it is based on a website that is optimized for mobile users.

History of term

Mobile sitemaps have been used since 2000, but in recent years we were able to see an increase in their popularity or better said their importance for the search engines and the website rank. Submitting the sitemap isn’t essential if the website is optimized for smartphones.

Why is it important to know?

If you are running or planning to run a website which is optimized for computers, but you want to have a mobile version, you will have to submit the sitemap. This is very important for new websites and it can help you get a higher rank at search engines.

How can I use it?

All of the affiliate marketers who are involved with using mobile-friendly websites and corresponding ads should be familiar with mobile sitemaps. They can help you generate a higher number of visitors and therefore get a higher number of consumers.
